        PhD in Civil Engineering, by Portuguese Institute of High Studies (University of Lisbon), in January of 1999.

        Degree in Civil Engineering, by Portuguese Institute of High Studies (University of Lisbon), in the branch of structural safety, in 1987.

        President of Portuguese Acoustical Society (2000-.......).

        President of the European Acoustics Association (2016-2019).

        President of the Ibero-American Federation of Acoustics (2006-2016).

        President of the Technical Committee for Standardization on Acoustics, Vibrations and Shocks, CT28 (IPQ), 2006-2016.

        Advisory Member of the Portuguese Council of Engineers, since 2010.
