        MAIN AREAS OF RESEARCH/INTEREST

        Rock mechanics

        Concrete dams

        Structural risk and reliability

        Uncertainty characterization

        Structural modeling

        DEVELOPED ACTIVITY

The activities undertaken can be split into research and consultant studies, namely:

        Research Studies:

Development of algorithms for structural reliability analysis, probabilistic design, and code calibration.

Probabilistic modeling and characterization of the main sources of uncertainty involved in the safety of concrete dams, their foundations, and other works on rock mass.

Participation in working groups formed as part of the revision of Eurocode 7.

        Consultant Studies:

Analysis and interpretation of the monitored behavior of concrete dams and underground works.

Stability analysis of slopes, concrete dam foundations and underground works.

Follow up the first filling of hydraulic tunnels.
