AREAS OF RESEARCH / INTEREST
Integrated pest management strategies and plans against urban pests, focusing on subterranean and dry wood termites, and wood-boring beetles.
Optimization of wood utilization, including wood derivatives and modified wood, and other materials of natural origin in construction.
Biosusceptibility of wood and derivatives and other materials of natural origin, to insects and fungi, and the influence of the contact with water on biodegradation models, as well as the potential effects of climate change phenomena.
Identification, monitoring, and detection of insect species (including invasive species) associated with the biosusceptibility of wood and its derivatives and other materials of natural origin.
RESEARCH AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY
Research and development on biosusceptibility of wood and derivatives and other biomaterials (participation in research projects, with internal and external funding.
Participation in national and international projects.
Identification and detection of biological degradation agents associated with wood and other materials.
Laboratory and field tests with biological degradation agents, integrating scientific projects or by contract.
