        Coordination and execution of research, development, and innovation projects (R&D&I) in National and European contexts. The leadership of COST 333 “New Bituminous Pavement Design Method”, (1996 – 1999) and several working groups of EU-funded projects is highlighted.         Participation in scientific and technical associations, committees, and working groups, such as:


        Coordination of National Standardisation Committee CT 129 – “Materiais para pavimentação” and participation at CEN TC 227 -  “Road Materials”.

        LNEC’s representative at the Forum of European Road Highway Research Laboratories (FEHRL), and presently a member of the Board. President of FEHRL between 2019 and 2022.

        Member of PIARC (World Road Association) TC 3.3– “Asset Management”.
