LNEC received a visit from 39 members of the College of Canal and Bridge Engineers (CICCP), in an afternoon packed with presentations and technical visits.

The visit began with a general presentation about LNEC in the Auditorium, after which the group went to the Hydraulics and Environment Department, where the work carried out at the Ports and Maritimes Structures Unite was presented, highlighting the history of the work carried out there and the current challenges faced in Portugal in this field of engineering.

The afternoon continued with a visit to the Structures Department, specifically the Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics Unit. The visitors had the opportunity to take a closer look at the Seismic Platform, one of LNEC's reference facilities for the study and simulation of seismic behaviour in structures, providing a detailed overview of advances in this crucial area of civil engineering.
