CT 90 - Urban water systems

Activity

The Technical Standardization Committee No. 90 (CT 90) aims to prepare normative documents and issue normative opinions in the field of Urban Water Systems. CT 90 covers the following subdomains: 

• Public Water Supply Systems.
• Public Drainage and Sewage Treatment Systems.
•  Water Reuse.
•  Performance of Water Supply and Wastewater Systems and Services.

In addition to monitoring European and international activity, CT 90 has been preparing the Portuguese version of standards, concentrating this effort on cases where translation could facilitate their adoption by the national technical community.

CT 90 has been headquartered since 1989 at the National Civil Engineering Laboratory (LNEC), recognized by the Portuguese Quality Institute (IPQ) as the Sectoral Standardization Organization (ONS) in the aforementioned field. In 1990, CT 90 began monitoring the European standardization activity developed by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and in 2004 it began monitoring the international standardization activity developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO).

Part of the follow-up to CEN/TC164 and CEN/TC165 is done in conjunction with TC 117 ‘Sanitary taps and their accessories’ (ONS/CATIM) and TC 121 ‘Precast concrete products’ (ONS/ANIPB).
